24th ASA Congress

The Association of Secretaries and Administrative Professionals in Asia Pacific (ASA), formerly known as The Association of Secretaries in Asia (ASA), was formed in 1974 to provide an opportunity for secretaries in and around Asia to meet and share their knowledge and experience.

The main objectives of ASA are:

  • To gain recognition for the secretaries and administrative professionals, as a professional.
  • To promote friendship, understanding, unity and the exchange of ideas among secretaries and administrative professionals in Asia.
  • To encourage establishment of secretarial associations in Asian countries.
  • To encourage more countries to join ASA.

The formation of ASA had created a means for secretarial associations to communicate with each other for the betterment of the individual association and the profession.

The ASA Congress is held biennially and it is hosted by one of the member associations on a rotation basis according to seniority of their membership in ASA.

The Papua New Guinea Association of Administrative Professionals hosted the 24th ASA Congress on September 24 – 28, 2018 at Gateway Hotel, Port Moresby, National Capital Region, Papua New Guinea.

The theme chosen for the 24th ASA Congress is “Administrative Dynamics: The WOW Factor”. At this Congress, participants learned –

  • To make a difference as dynamic administrative professionals in the field of administrative management.
  • To improve their status as office/administrative professionals.
  • Ways to achieve their vision, mission, goals and objectives and moving with times and technology.

The participants walked away feeling overwhelmed by all the information, the names and business contacts. They left the Congress educated and motivated to act on their new insights and knowledge.
